RESUME

Anchor 1
Education
Weber State University
2009 - 2013

I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Musical Theater. Though that degree is not something normally expected of a designer, I still feel I have received a strong education in design. My major did not require a minor, but I had an interest in design and took all of the classes required for a minor in costume design. Script Analysis was also a required course for my degree, which is essential as a designer.

Weber State did not offer any wig design or wig making classes. However, I was able to learn the basics of wig construction from a mentor. Though I was not formally taught the art of wig design or wig making, I have dedicated myself in learning as much as I can about the craft. I strive for perfection and feel very confident in the skills I have developed and the product I can produce.

Professional
Info

I've been working as a professional wig designer since 2013. It started as a part time opportunity at one theater and by 2018 I was independently contracted as the Wig Master for five theaters. At every theater I work for I design, build, and maintain all of the wigs. Though it is unusual for one person to perform all of those tasks, it has been enjoyable because it has given me the opportunity to hone my skills in every area.

Work
Experience
Centerpoint Legacy Theater
2013 - 2017, 2018 - Present

Centerpoint Legacy Theater is a community theater in Davis County, Utah. I was hired for their production of INTO THE WOODS in 2013 and have enjoyed working for them ever since, with a small break from the spring of 2017 to the winter of 2018. It is a theater with a smaller budget and I have enjoyed designing beautiful wigs for their productions at low cost. I have also worked to build a large stock of wigs that can be used for years to come.

Bonneville High School Theater Department
2014 - Present

Bonneville High School first hired me to design their wigs for their production of TARZAN. Since then I have enjoyed being a part of their shows every year. They have a dedication to quality and attention to detail, which I have loved being a part of. Some of my favorite shows I have ever designed have been at Bonneville High School.

Good Company Theater
2016 - present

Good Company Theater is a small theater in downtown Ogden, Utah that is dedicated to providing thought-provoking, intriguing, boundary-pushing theater. They produce many new and unknown works and I have loved being able to design shows that are uncommon and challenging.

The Grand Theater
2017 - present

I started working for The Grand Theater on their production of HAIRSPRAY. Since then, I have designed 10 more shows at The Grand and have loved every single one. I have enjoyed building a beautiful stock that they will be able to use for seasons to come.

Ogden Musical Theater
2018 - present

My first show with Ogden Musical Theater was ANNIE GET YOUR GUN just last year.  I am currently in the process of designing my second show with them, PETER PAN. They produce one summer show a year as they work to build their organization, and I have very much enjoyed working for them.
